Character name: Wally West/Kid Flash
Fandom: Young Justice
Timeline: Episode 20, "Coldhearted"
Age: 16
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths:
Wally is a meta human with superspeed. While he is not nearly as fast as his mentor, the Flash, Kid Flash's speed is still quite impressive. In addition to running really fast, his speed also grants him other abilities, such as:
•Creating small tornadoes by turning in small quick circles
•Creating friction; so he can give you a wicked case of carpet burn
•Being able to turn himself into a human battering ram/cannon ball
He also has very high endurance, which allows him to take blows and recover quickly, and supercharged brain activity, basically meaning that he can think really really fast. Wally has also been shown to possess some basic gymnastics skills, able to do flips and handsprings at high speeds. He also has quite a bit of strength, being able to pick up and carry people bigger than him without much issue.
Being a speedster, he, of course, has common speedster weaknesses. Wally's metabolism is hyper-accelerated, which means that he has to eat a lot to maintain energy. If he runs low on energy he becomes sluggish and slightly less coordinated than usual. For occasions when he will be out for more than 24 hours, Wally has a secret compartment in his glove for snacks. Kid Flash, unlike his mentor, needs to be able to accelerate and decelerate when running, if he tries to stop abruptly it results in falling, crashing into things, and hurting himself. He also is susceptible to normal everyday human weaknesses, being that he is still human and everything. He can still get cuts, bruises, and broken bones, but he does heal faster than normal humans do.
How would they use their abilities?: For justice, clearly. Nah, Wally would most likely just use it for mundane things, like, you know, getting from point A to point B. He'd probably do some training too and possibly offer to spar with other passengers. Perhaps one day he will open a taxi service and the charge will be buying him lunch.
And obviously, if a threat did appear on the Thor he would lend his powers to keep everyone safe.
Appearance: [look] [at] [all] [this] [swag]
Wallace West has a very lean slightly muscular build. He has short, spiky red hair, freckles, and green eyes. He seems to be of average height for someone his age, he's taller than Robin and Artemis, but shorter than M'Gann. His civilian wear, or "civvies", consist of long sleeved shirts worn under short sleeved button ups, long pants/jeans, sneakers, and a watch. He also always has his goggles with him, whether or not he is on duty. His goggles are red and serve to protect his eyes from debris while running. They are also able to see different light spectrums.
His Kid Flash costume is bright yellow with red pants, yellow boots, and red gloves. The gloves have compartments hidden in them to hold things like protein bars when Wally is on longer missions. The suit also has shoulder pads and other body protectors to help cushion Kid Flash when he rams himself into enemies or, uh, walls. The insignia on his chest doubles as stealth tech and, when pressed, changes the suit into either a black and gray color scheme for covert ops missions, or a white and light gray color scheme for missions in snowy places.
Background/Personality:
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away…
A lot of stuff probably happened that has nothing to do with Wally West.
Oh no, as big of a nerd for all things sci-fi Wally might be, that story is really different from his. Probably. Wally's story starts out with a BANG! or rather a bang that goes back a few generations. The very first Flash, Jay Garrick, was in a freak lab accident and BOOM! he now has superspeed. Much, much later another man, Barry Allen, would recreate this accident in a controlled environment. The result? Another BAM! and the universe has itself another Flash. Okay so they're not too creative when it comes to making up superhero names, at least their power is impressive.
So impressive, in fact, that one little boy growing up in Central City would idolize the Flash and even be the founding (and only) member of the Flash fan club. Yes, it's true. Wally West is actually a major fanboy. That's fine though, because it's for this reason that Wally decides to recreate the recreation of the freak lab accident. This was made a lot easier when he "accidentally" discovers his uncle's notes on the whole matter, of course. Incidentally, Wally's uncle is actually Barry Allen, the second Flash himself. You would think that a superhero would hide something like the journal that details how he gained his immense power in a better spot than in the back of his closet.
At the ripe old age of thirteen, Wally took his uncle's notes and set off to get himself some superspeed. Without his uncle's or anybody else's consent or knowledge, mind you. Anyway with the aide of his handy dandy chemistry set, Wally was able to recreate the experiment successfully and BOOM! he nearly kills himself and ends up in the hospital. It wasn't until a few weeks later that Wally's experiment showed any results. He was up and he was running, running fast. Barry was a bit distraught over this at first, but Wally was determined to become the Flash's partner. After a lot of pouting on Wally's part, Barry eventually conceded and told his nephew that he could be Kid Flash.
And it was the greatest day in the history of the world.
According to Wally.
Flash forwarding two years to Independence Day, Kid Flash is one of four sidekicks (don't call them that though) who are to gather at the Hall of Justice and be one step closer to becoming full fledged Justice League members. Needless to say, Aqualad, Speedy, Robin, and Kid Flash are all very excited for this day. In fact, the phrase "today is the day" has probably never been so overused before this point. Everyone is playing a different tune once they finally get inside though. Speedy, the protege of Green Arrow and resident angry archer, suspects that they've been given nothing more than a glorified backstage pass. Which is actually pretty true, considering the JL's real headquarters is an orbiting satellite known as the Watchtower. The remaining sidekicks watch as Speedy throws a pretty impressive fit (complete with hat throwing), quits being Green Arrow's partner, and walks out. Not to be outdone by a guy who wore one of the dorkiest hats ever, Kid Flash, Robin, and Aqualad decide to take on their own mission after their mentors get called away.
The three sideki-- errr… The three young budding heroes find themselves at Cadmus, a genetic research laboratory. They're investigating a fire alert and once they enter the building they find a lot more than just an office fire. As they travel deeper into the complex, the three of them discover a few interesting things. First, that the Cadmus offices are just a front for the real research. The company has been experimenting with bioengineering and advanced cloning. Which leads to the more interesting discovery of the day, a clone of Superman himself.
Project Kr, or the Superboy, is then freed from his containment pod by the protege trio, but unfortunately he immediately attacks them because, baby, he was programmed this way. In the wee hours of the morning on July 5th, Wally wakes up after being knocked out by Superboy and finds that he, Robin, and Aqualad have all been restrained in their own pods. Doctor Desmond, the head scientist of Cadmus, orders for the three of them to be cloned. Fortunately through the power of what can only be described as bromance, Superboy is able mentally overcome his programming and rescue his rescuers. The four of them fight their way out of the facility and eventually make it out. By collapsing the roof. The four are in dire need of a costume change, but they made it out with only a few cuts and bruises. More importunely, they exposed Cadmus for what it really was and Batman is so impressed they are able to join the League!
Okay, not really, but Batman does tell them to wait three days so he can figure out what to do.
In the meantime, Wally offers to take Superboy (Supey!) home, because he has no other place to go. On July 7th a credit card arrives in the mail for Wally. It was from Batman to use for expenses, like buying actual clothes for Supey. Which is nice, because otherwise he's stuck in an extremely lame excuse for space pajamas with an "S" shield on them. On July 8th, the proteges plus Superboy are all gathered at Mount Justice, the Justice League's former base of operations. Batman informs them that the five of them are going to act as a covert ops team to do on the fly discreet missions. Yes, five. Batman can count because the boys are then introduced to M'gann M'orzz, or Miss Martian, the niece of Martian Manhunter (another League member).
Another week or so passes and Aqualad, Robin, and Kid Flash meet up with Speedy in Star City and try to convince him to join the team. He says he doesn't want anything to do with their "Junior Justice League" and walks off. Because Speedy is a jerk. A jerk with a lot of swagger who cares about his friends and whose friends care about him, but a jerk none the less. The next day, July 18th, Wally arrives at Mount Justice (or the cave) with Robin and they meet up with the rest of their rag tag team. Red Tornado, their, uh, babysitter, tells the team that he has no mission assignments for them and that they should spend their time doing some team bonding exercises. M'gann and Superboy offer to take the remaining three on a tour of the cave, since they actually live there. Eventually M'gann shows them the bioship, her martian space ship that will serve as the team's main form of transportation. They all take it out for a little joyride and in the midst of their flight Red Tornado sends them a message about a disturbance at a nearby power plant.
Once they arrive, all hell breaks loose. Well, it gets mildly irritated by some strong wind anyway. The team is confronted by a one-off villain named Mister Twister and after a few embarrassing defeats, they're able to actually work as a team to bring him down. Yippee.
The first official mission the team has as the team, is a pretty by the book one. Just a simple recon to gain information on the production of the illegal steroid known as Venom. What ends up happening is very much the opposite of "simple recon." While en route to the factory, Robin disappears and Wally takes it upon himself to find him. During his search, Wally managed to trip and end up in the middle of a fire fight between Bane (steroid-enhanced super villain, ruler of the island that makes Venom) and some of Kobra's (super villain with a god-complex) men. His teammates rescue him and manage to capture Bane. After a quick debate, or rather an incredibly whiny fight over who the leader of this mission is, the team decides to use Bane to navigate the island and factory more discreetly.
It doesn't really work out all that well. When the team returns to the cave they prepare themselves to be reprimanded by Batman, but instead they're congratulated on being able to adapt to unexpected situations. So they can count that as a win, right?
Skipping ahead to early August, the team is gathered in the cave so that they can be trained in hand to hand combat by Black Canary. Canary is a pretty no-nonsense kind of woman when she's on the job. Wally is nonsense any time day or night. When it's his turn to spar with his teacher he says, "And after this I'll show you my moves." Canary is less than impressed. To be perfectly honest, she probably couldn't be less impressed even if she tried. Wally ends up on his back with the computer very helpfully displaying a huge FAIL sign in bright red text next to him. Thankfully before he can be embarrassed any further, Batman interrupts the session with another mission.
The team is to escort two shipments of robotic parts that make up Amazo, an android that is able to mimic the powers of various league members. They split into two groups, but halfway through the mission they are attacked by androids called MONQIs. Eventually the team all regroup at Gotham Academy, but by then the Amazo android has already been rebuilt. During the ensuing fight, Kid Flash is caught and almost crushed by the android. An arrow shot from off in the distance saves Wally from becoming Kid Pancake.
The android is eventually defeated through the power of teamwork and quick thinking and once again disassembled.
ONE WEEK LATER… It's time for Wally's worst nightmare to become a reality. Yes, it's time for high school to start again. At least he's a sophomore, which is slightly better than being a freshmen. Unfortunately he misses out on the beach day the rest of the team had planned, and by the time he makes it to Mount Justice it's time for another mission. Hey it's not like he ran in wearing only a pair of swim trunks, and carrying a crap load of beach gear only to proceed to trip and fall on his face in front of his teammates, the new girl, and Batman.
Oh, wait.
Enter Artemis, who Wally falls absolutely head over heels in love for. Okay not really. Their first meeting has all the potential for a very long acquaintanceship full of mutual annoyance. One would think Wally would be more grateful, considering it was Artemis's arrow who saved Wally from being crushed to death by Amazo. Regardless of this fact, Wally thinks of her as a cheap replacement archer for Speedy. Speaking of, Speedy waltzes right into Mount Justice to explain the details of the team's next mission. Also he changed costumes and his superhero ID. He goes by Red Arrow now because he wears red and shoots arrows, it's a totally different name from Green Arrow. Archers have their good looks, they don't have to have things like originality.
The mission itself was more or less a success, nothing too exciting happened. They protect the scientist lady, Kid Flash and Artemis glare at each other some more, and Wally nearly drowns because an assassin named Cheshire knocked him out and pushed him into a pool. All in a night's work really.
Before moving on, do you believe in magic?
Because Wally sure doesn't.
When he was a very young boy, there was unfortunate accident at a birthday party involving a magician trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat. It was just awful.
Okay, that's probably not true at all, but Wally truly doesn't believe in the existence of magic. It's a little odd, considering members of his own team use magic, but that doesn't seem to matter. Anyway, on August 19th in light of the disappearance of Kent Nelson, a founding member of the Justice Society of America, the team is sent to the Tower of Fate to investigate and to retrieve the Helmet of Fate before it falls into the wrong hands. During their search they come across some villains known as Klarion and Abra Kadabra who are holding Kent hostage. In the ensuing fight Wally gets separated from the team and ends up on the roof with Kent and Klarion.
Klarion, who is actually a Lord of Chaos, is too much for Wally and Kent to handle. Kent uses the Helmet of Fate (which was very conveniently hidden on the roof) to make a shield to protect himself and Wally. Unfortunately, Klarion was able to mortally wound Kent which forced Wally to do something drastic. Like put on the helmet. The thing about the Helmet of Fate is that it transforms the wearer into Dr. Fate. In theory, being able to transform into an all powerful magical being would be really cool, but what happens is actually pretty horrible. The ancient god, Nabu, who inhabits the helmet completely takes over the wearer's body and has little to no regard for the safety of the person he's hitching a ride with.
Once Nabu and Wally, as Dr. Fate, defeat Klarion, Nabu decides that the world needs Dr. Fate and refuses to give Wally his body back. Fortunately Kent Nelson, whose spirit is also lingering in the helmet, convinces him to let Wally go. Kent Nelson is actually a pretty cool old guy, Wally can probably learn a lot of things from hi-- Oh. Wait. Once he's free, Wally quietly mourns Kent and later back at the cave he places the helmet on a shelf.
Wait, you guys don't want to put that thing under lock and key? No? Okay then.
Cut to early September and the team is assigned another mission by Batman. There have been mysterious energy surges happening in the country of Bialyia and the team is sent to gather information. They are told to maintain radio silence, which wasn't a problem because they used Miss Martian's telepathy to keep in contact with one another. Later on that becomes a big problem, because Psimon, another telepath, finds Miss Martian snooping around and uses his power to erase her and consequently the entire team's memories. They are all left to wander in the desert not knowing how or even why they're there.
Kid Flash manages to find Artemis passed out in an abandoned shack and wakes her up. The two of them have no idea who the other is, but they decide to stick together for the time being anyway. Or rather the shack they are standing in is attacked by some Byalian soldiers and they decide to run for their lives together. Eventually Miss Martian finds them who then leads them to Robin. After taking down some soldiers and tying them up, Miss Martian restores everyone's memories. The team realizes that they need to find Aqualad and they set off. Miss Martian, at one point, senses that Superboy is in trouble and she flies off to save him. Why the indestructible clone gets priority over the Atlantean who can barely survive in a desert climate gets priority, the world may never know.
All in all, everyone gets rescued and the team is able to fly back to the cave safely aboard the bioship.
After the events of the mission in Bialyia, Kid Flash gets right back up on that saddle and settles into more hero work. Probably. We don't catch up with Wally again until nearly the end of the month. Oh, but how he shows off his heroics! By being captured along with Superboy, Miss Martian, and Aqualad by evil robots and left to die. In their own base, no less.
It was a pretty grim situation, but Robin and Artemis (the only non-superpowered members of the team) were able to stop the evil bots in time. They had a little help from Wally, though. Robin, during a fight with Red Torpedo and Red Inferno (the evil robots), is able to throw a bird-a-rang near the place where Wally is being held captive. As it turns out, the bird-a-rang is actually a small communicator that Robin and Artemis use to keep in touch with their captive teammates. Wally informs them that they can stop the robots by shorting them out with an EMP.
The plan goes off without a hitch, mostly. Everything is fine until the team's mentor, Red Tornado, shows up, goes rogue, and nearly kills them all. They are saved by the Justice League, but Tornado and his evil robot siblings still got away.
The next day, Wally is upset and, like the rest of the team, demands some answers. When he learns that Aqualad (the team leader) has information about a possible mole on the team he gets angry and, well, extremely pissy. While everyone is in various moods of pissed off (at Aqualad), Batman sends the team off on a mission to India with Captain Marvel (a member of the Justice League, he later sort of becomes another den mother/brother).
Once the team arrives at the drop-zone, they all split off into separate groups leaving Aqualad alone with Captain Marvel. Kid Flash and Robin are attacked by vultures while investigating. They were big vultures under the influence of a strength enhancing, rage inducing drug known as Kobra Venom, anyway. After they fend off the birds, Aqualad contacts them and the rest of the team. Well, unfortunately for Mr. Team Leader, everyone is still royally angry with him. Aqualad basically tells them to suck it up because he's still the leader on this mission and they can all discuss it later.
This actually works. After they band together and breach the hideout of The Brain (not a, the brain) and save Captain Marvel (who managed to get captured chasing after a tiger) they all have a talk about their feelings and everyone decides to keep Aqualad as their leader.
Some weeks later, the Injustice League attacks major cities of the world with giant plants.
No, really.
Batman sends the team on a mission to destroy the Injustice League's central control system while the Justice League fights off the plants. The team is made up of all underaged superheroes with varying levels of actual experience (and now also a wolf) and the Injustice League is only made up of some of the world's most diabolical villains. Nothing could go wrong, really.
After they're attacked, the team splits up into two groups. Robin and Miss Martian go off to destroy the central control system and everyone else is left to fight the evil-League. Wally is quickly knocked out of the fighting after his arm is broken. Eventually everyone else is able to overwhelm the Injustice League, or at least hold their own long enough for the Justice League to show up and force the villains to surrender.
During their next team meeting, Wally gets pampered by Captain Marvel while everyone else does actual training. Of course, they don't have broken arms, so it's all good, right? Uh. Everyone is introduced to Zatanna, the daughter of Zatara (a League member). The team plus Zatanna then decide to investigate Red Tornado themselvesbecause it was convenient to the overall plot of the showthe team was tired of being left in the shadows by Batman and the other Leaguers.
Wally has the idea to go see Professor Ivo (the creator of Amazo) in prison, because he might know the whereabouts of Red Tornado's creator. Once the team has their information they decide to go after Red Tornado and his siblings themselves. You know, because that worked out so well the last time.
Once they find Red Tornado, he tells the team to play dead. This, of course, strikes everyone as odd. Immediately after this, Red Volcano arrives. Red Volcano has a bit of an eruptive temper. Ahem. He is also laden with the memories of all of his robot siblings and is easily able to defeat the team. Before he could finish them all off, Red Tornado, Red Torpedo, and Red Inferno arrive to stop him because they were reprogrammed to be good again. Red Torpedo and Inferno stop Volcano, this costs them their "lives" though. The team is not out of the woods yet, however. Or, the super volcano, rather. Wally is able to tell Red Tornado how to stop the eruption through the power of love.
Just kidding, it was actually the power of science. Which usually makes a lot more sense than the power of love, although it is more lonely. Anyway, once all that is dealt with the team is able to repair Tornado with extra parts they find at his creator's lab and all of their hearts grow three sizes. That tends to happen when a robot admits that he has learned what it is to be human by being your weekend nanny.
Later, the team agrees to be part of a psychic training simulation. The situation in the simulation (a worldwide alien invasion) was designed to get worse and worse. The team knew this going in, but when Artemis "dies" in the simulation it triggers Miss Martian's psychic powers and everything begins to spiral out of control and causes everyone to believe that the simulation is real. Wally is absolutely devastated by the "death" of Artemis. He quickly becomes enraged and vows to kill every single alien in the name of revenge. Later when there's a small chance Artemis might still be alive, Wally is overjoyed! All of his hopes are ripped away again, however, because it turns out Robin led them all on a suicide mission to destroy the alien mothership. Wally seems to accept his fate though, and he Robin go out in a bang. Literally.
Once Miss Martian is finally awake and the simulation is over the team has to undergo therapy sessions with Black Canary. During his session, Wally acts extremely nonchalant over the whole thing and denies that the exercise had any affect on him at all. Black Canary calls him out on his extreme reaction to Artemis's death and Wally loses his cool guy demeanor. He is told that he is in denial, but he is, apparently, very comfortable with that.
Wally wakes up on the morning of November 11th, his sixteenth birthday. It's snowing, Wally's mom makes him a huge breakfast, his aunt wishes him a happy birthday live on the news, and he has the school day off because of the snow. It's a really good day for him so far. It only gets better when he arrives at base to find that the team has thrown him a "surprise" party. That's pretty much the last high point for Wally. Well, at least of the morning.
Artemis takes it upon herself to inform Wally that M'gann, whom Wally has been trying to get a kiss from all day, is in a relationship with Conner, A.K.A. Superboy. Ouch. Wally doesn't have time to wallow in self pity, however, because Batman calls in with a mission. Turns out that the snow is being caused by a bunch of weather machines. Batman tells the team that they will have to work with the League to stop them. Everyone is super excited for this, naturally. This is the first time that the team will get to work together with the big leagues, after all. Batman assigns everyone their objectives, everyone except for Wally. When he asks Bats if he forgot about him, Batman tells Wally that he needs to deliver a heart to girl who is in desperate need of a transplant. Wally can't exactly say no to this, and so he accepts his mission with a disappointed sigh.
Wally's mission is to run the donor heart from Boston to Seattle, of course he only has a few hours before the heart is no longer viable. Along the way Wally begins complaining to himself about how he should be up fighting with the Flash and the rest of the team. While en route Wally is stopped by Vandal Savage, one of Flash's rogues. Vandal is terrorizing a bunch of police officers because he has been waiting for the Flash to run by. He says that it's time the two of them fight again. Of course, Wally is only the Flash's partner, but Vandal says he can make do with pissing Flash off by killing his "brat sidekick."
The two of them fight for a few minutes, but Wally realizes he is wasting time and he only has just over an hour left to get the heart to Seattle. He stops the fight with Vandal and runs off to continue his mission. As he is running away, Vandal smirks to himself and says that it's already too late. Once Wally makes it to Seattle he skids to an extremely graceful (sort of) stop in front of the hospital with twenty minutes to spare. The doctor that meets him out front, however, tells him it is too late and that the girl died thirteen minutes ago. Wally is devastated and he believes it's his fault that the girl has passed away. "If only I was faster," he thinks. He slinks into the hospital lobby and sits down on a bench in a pitiful heap when suddenly a bunch of other doctors and nurses come rushing toward him asking for the heart. Wally is confused by this at first, but then he realizes that the doctor from before was a fake and he goes after him.
It turns out that the fake doctor, Vandal, and whoever provided the weather machines were all working for Count Vertigo (a villain, of course). The count was conspiring to kill the recipient of the heart, because the girl is actually the queen of his country and the only person standing in between him and the crown. Wally fights with him and a bunch of henchmen, but he manages to get the heart back and get it to the doctors. He bursts through the front doors of the hospital and hands the heart to real doctors this time.
The girl dies on the operating table.
Or so Count Vertigo thinks. Wally realized that Vertigo wouldn't stop in his quest to kill the queen and he comes up with the plan to have her fake her own death. When Vertigo comes to taunt Wally and he admits to everything he has done, Wally reveals the queen who was hiding behind a curtain (with a recording device even) who has Vertigo arrested. She thanks Wally and they all go home happy. The next day Wally places the container that held the heart on his souvenir shelf, because that was "the most important souvenir" from the mission. Wally matured that day. Well, sort of. When Robin congratulates him on a successful mission Wally responds by smirking and saying, "Well, I am the man." He does at least have more clear priorities now, if not the humble attitude to back it up.
Personality:
Wally is, first and most obviously, the goofball of the team. If there's a joke to be made about something, he'll make it. This is not to say he can't be serious when the situation calls for it, but hiding behind bad jokes and sarcasm is easier than showing your actual emotions. He often hides behind his status as the class clown so he can keep living in denial over certain things. When Black Canary called him out on his extreme reaction to Artemis's "death" in the failed simulation, Wally simply plays it off and jokes about how he'd rather be talking about Black Canary. She tells him that he is in denial and all he does is shrug and say he's comfortable with that. To be fair, being a teenaged superhero, it's probably easier ignoring feelings in favor of doing the job. Then again, it could be the teenage hormones being confusing and weird. Of course, just because Wally ignores hisobviouscrush on Artemis, doesn't mean he can't express any emotions. On the contrary, if Wally is passionate about something, he'll let you know.
Or if he thinks it will get girls to like him, he'll lie about it. Wally has since grown out of this, but there was a time he thought if he pretended to like magic, it would impress M'gann M'orzz, who thinks magic is really cool. Wally quickly gets called out on his bullcrap "magic rules" act after his lying nearly gets the team a dip in a pool of molten lava. Long story. He begrudgingly states that magic cannot exist and everything can be explained with science. Wally very stubbornly refuses to acknowledge magic, even when magical things are happening around him. Kaldur'ahm, the team leader, at one point says Wally believes in science so much because he uses it to explain what he cannot comprehend. After all, it's science that gave Wally his speedster abilities not magic.
If stuff like food didn't exist, science would be Wally's one true love. He is a science prodigy and was able to easily recreate his uncle's experiments in his basement with a basic chemistry set. Yeah. His knowledge of scientific things has helped the team on more than one occasion. Ranging from being able to recognize the formula for a new strength enhancing drug, building an EMP, and being able to tell Red Tornado how to keep a volcano from erupting. Science is something he has control over, it's, for the most part, something stable and understandable and having something like that in a world constantly in danger of being destroyed can keep a person sane.
Science isn't the only thing Wally has at his side, of course. He is fiercely loyal to his family and friends and has healthy relationships with them. It is shown that Wally and his parents make up one extremely happy family. Wally's parents love and support him, and in return he feels that he's able to tell them anything. He even felt comfortable enough to take Conner/Superboy to his house for a few days after the escape from Cadmus. His parent's were totally fine with this. Wally is close to all the members of his family, of course. His aunt and uncle especially. His Aunt Iris, a news reporter, wished him a happy birthday live on the news, which is kind of cool if you still watch the news. Even before Wally found out that his Uncle Barry was the Flash, Wally was close to him. He often went over to is aunt and uncle's house to spend weekends and they all enthusiastically played board games. Probably.
Wally is also close to his teammates. As the series goes on they all become more of a unit and get better at working off of one another. Of course, Wally gets along better with some members of the team than he does others. Robin/Dick Grayson, is Wally's best friend in the entire universe. Their bromance can totally be seen from space. The two of them often joke around with one another and Wally is even, currently, the only member of the team who knows Robin's true identity. Wally being so loyal to his friends is actually one of the main reasons he didn't get along with Artemis at first. He believed that her joining the team, meant that they were replacing and trying to push out Speedy/Red Arrow/Roy, and Wally was quick to let his friend know that if the team had a quota on archers that they would pick Roy over Artemis. Eventually Wally and Artemis act more amicable to one another, and they only bicker occasionally rather than being at each other's throats constantly. The mission gone wrong in Bialya even showed that the two of them could have started out as friends if they had met under different circumstances.
After the mission in the Bialyan desert goes wrong, Kid Flash finds Artemis unconscious and offers to help her. To be perfectly honest, this could be an instance of teenage boyism and Wally thinking he could get Artemis to swoon over him, but as the day goes on it's clear that Wally genuinely cares for her safety. He runs them away from danger, even when he is running dangerously low on energy. Later he even comforts Artemis when she is worried that Miss Martian might accidentally reveal the truth about her past when Miss M restores everyone's memories. Of course, as soon as said memories are restored, the two of them go right back to fighting like an old married couple.
With all his confidence, he still feels self conscious sometimes. He's not as fast as the Flash, and he doesn't even have all the same abilities and that bothers Wally. He has to eat constantly just so he can use his powers and function. He's worried that others don't take him seriously as a protege. These are those moments when Wally looks around at what he has, his friends, and realizes that, yeah, he's still the man. Those are his words. At his core, Wally West is just a good guy. He may crack bad jokes, talk too much, and just generally say the wrong things at the wrong times, but he's still good. He aspires to be a hero just like his mentor. Wally feels good about being good and helping people.
GB History:
Wally arrived on board the SS Thor for the first time sometime in April of some space year he never bothered to check. While he was a bit homesick, he was not all that put out. He didn't do much during this time before he was worm holed back home about a month later.
It wasn't until he arrived a second time that he did much of anything around the ship. Wally managed to connect with his teammates (well, most of them anyway) and immerse himself in a group that would forever refer to themselves as Room 3-26. Probably. From then on everyday was walking in on someone in the shower, talking extensively about cheese, and experiencing a whirlwind heterosexual life partner affair with one roommate named Yusuke Urameshi..
Of course, not everything was fun and games. Over the course of the next few months quite a bit of "drama" occurred within the team. Really though, if you ask him, a lot of it was just a big misunderstanding. Such as spending so much time alone with Zatanna. That drive induced kiss and subsequent dates were obviously all a part of his plan to later ask out Artemis. Well, not really, but he would vehemently deny any other explanations if you asked him about it.
With extreme awkwardness amidst teammates as a cover Wally, with a little help from Zatanna, finally asked out Artemis and it was awesome. Okay, really, it was super weird for a while. They didn't even kiss until after another big dramatic moment, but you can't rush teenagers, never mind that one of them is a speedster.
Sometime before a big culture festival the team's resident Boy Wonder (Robin) was infected by some, well, insects. They were insects that made people paranoid and sometimes act out violently, but insects none the less. During a team meeting, Wally was joking with Zatanna which set off Robin who proceeded to hack the security cameras and show everyone the aforementioned kiss between Wally and Zatanna. Honestly if the kissing hadn't taken place in the dolphin pool with the lights all low it wouldn't have been so bad.
Anyway, eventually everyone cooled down. Robin was cured, Artemis forgave Wally, and presumably everything else was set right. Wally entered everyone into a Zero Gravity tournament at the festival in a moment of sheer brilliance, so if there were things that still had to be patched up then they were out of luck. Thankfully everything turned out all right, and later at the shooting gallery Wally gave Artemis a good luck kiss. Mostly because he wanted to and also because he really wanted one of the prizes.
Everything was going well until he got worm holed again.
His time on the Thor hasn't impacted Wally's personality too much. He holds his teammates and the friends he makes a little more dearly, considering how often they would just randomly disappear though.
Have you read up on how the game works?: God as my witness if I don't understand how this game works, I will never eat nutella again! The guide plug-in is called the Flaming Ferret. Wally can earn money by doing missions, getting an actual job, and stealing/mooching.

Listen up guys, this is probably the most important message you'll ever read.
So, I've had, like, three or four or eight of these hot dogs and where does this meat come from?
I know where it came from back on Earth, but I wasn't all that deterred. Someone had to eat it, right? It's all part of the Circle of Life. Hakuna Matata, Dudes.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is, if I'm eating some alien sheep entrails or something, just let me know. Because part of me is obligated to be grossed out for a while, while the other part is happy to ignore it all and keep chowing down, ya know?
Thanks.
Also is there a big cheese store around? If not I'm totally calling DIBS now and tapping into that market first.
3rd person sample:
Sometimes, Wally isn't sure why he wanted to become a hero so badly. The recognition is nice, but he doesn't really need it. Wally isn't doing this out of vengeance, or because he's proving something about himself. He practically worshipped the ground the Flash walked on before he got his powers, and now he has the chance to be just like him. Like his idol. Is that all Kid Flash is? A fanboy who got lucky? It's not a thought that he has often, but lately with all his screw ups, it's something he can't stop thinking about.
He tries his best do his job, and be heroic and selfless, but it's hard having to put the safety of an entire city, and even the world, before himself. Wally can't even count the number of times he's ran headfirst into a burning building to save the people inside. Right now it might be the ninth, tenth, twentieth time? He doesn't know, but he's pulled at least a dozen people from inside and he thinks his job today is done, until he hears a woman screaming that her children are still trapped somewhere inside. Without a second thought, Wally, Kid Flash, runs back to find them. The roof is starting to cave in and it's not until he gets to the third floor that he finally hears a tiny voice calling for help. With a burst of speed, he is easily able to make it to the end of the hallway and bust through the door. It turns out that the children were hiding under a bed. Wally crouches down and reaches out to them. "Hey, it's okay. You guys can trust me, I'm Kid Flash." The building is still falling apart around them, and by the time Wally coaxes the boy and girl out from their hiding spot parts of the ceiling have started crashing down. With the children finally tucked safely in his arms, Wally zips back out into safety in no time.
He hands them back over to their mother who can't stop crying and thanking him, then the kids look at him and give him the widest smiles he's ever seen.
"Thank you Kid Flash!" "Can we do that again!?"
Wally can't help but give them a genuine smile back. "It's what I do and, uh, maybe we should take a raincheck on that. We really don't need to give your mom another reason to panic."
The small family thanks him one more time before he leaves. When he's back in his room that night, unwinding from the day's excitement he grins to himself. Sometimes, Wally knows exactly why he became a hero.
Questions?: Nah brah.
Did you put your characters name and fandom in the subject: Why would I ever do that? :|
